Who We Are
The mission of the West Virginia Mountain Bike Association is to promote mountain biking, mountain bike racing and the development and maintenance of mountain bike trails throughout the state of West Virginia. We will fulfill this mission through the following steps:
Create a race schedule and provide sanctioning support to local race promoters for point series and non-points series races for racers with varied ability levels (i.e. youth, beginner, sport, and expert distances).
Assist in sustainable trail design, building, and maintenance at our race venues and beyond.
Foster respect for the environment and educate trail users in safe and appropriate mountain biking use.
Advocate for outdoor recreational access throughout the state of West Virginia with combined efforts of other more localized mountain bike associations and businesses in our state such as local trail groups, IMBA chapters, bike and equipment shops, and other supporting businesses and private donors.
Our vision is that the West Virginia Mountain Bike Association races will provide recreational and competitive mountain biking opportunities in West Virginia and all mountain bikers will maintain a good relationship with the landowners/property managers that allow riding throughout our state, be good stewards of the outdoors, and through their experience racing cultivate excitement for our sport.
